We are hiring for a Chemical Mixer - Start position. This position assists in liquid or powder mixing by performing the following duties. Operates drum pump, meters and floor scales. Trains and performs charging materials. Performs tank volume measurements when required. Reading meter to verify specified volume of liquids loaded. Learns how to take samples for laboratory testing. Trains on steps for Transfers of batches. Sets up and operates filter presses and changes filters. Follows B & G procedure, connecting ground cable to carry off static electricity if necessary. Performs line hook-ups. Trains on RFS functions. Trains for back up to unload rail cars. Completes washdowns following checklist and logs all information relative to restricted washes. Tests water samples. Inspects materials such as rework prior to use. Trains and Operates forklift and walkie with approved training certification. Maintains housekeeping in all areas assigned. Adheres to all company safety, ISO 9001 and 14001 policies and procedures and training.
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Prior experience in chemical manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to perform online training and complete paperwork as required. Ability to speak effectively with employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must be able to obtain forklift certified. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 100 pounds.
