Summary:

 

The Manufacturing Test Engineer II shall develop and maintain test software, hardware, processes, and procedures as required for the production testing of medical electrical components and systems, and ceramic crystal transducers, in an FDA regulated environment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop and support production test processes throughout the product lifecycle. Define, develop, validate, release and refine PCBA and system test programs and related documentation for internal use, and by international manufacturing partners.  Define, develop, validate and release and refine electrical and acoustic test hardware, software and related documentation for ceramic crystal transducers.
  • Upgrade test capabilities to address antiquated test equipment, improve capacity, and improve effectiveness and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with engineering development teams to assure designs incorporate high levels of testability and fault isolation.
  • Through a combination of good design and clear documentation, create processes and procedures that can be successfully and accurately executed by individuals of limited experience, and for whom English may not be a primary language.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Accredited Engineering Degree - BS in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in PCBA and system test development, validation, optimization, and support in a government regulated environment (preferably with medical devices).
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in transducer electrical and acoustic test development, validation, optimization, and support in a government regulated environment (preferably with medical devices).
  • 2-3 years demonstrated experience in a working in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software development tools: C# or experience is preferred. Experience with C++, LabView and/or LabWindows/CVI development environments is also desired.
  • 2-3 years of experience with scripting languages (Ruby, Python, etc.)
  • Web based software development skills are desired (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python)
  • 1-2 years of experience developing comprehensive test strategies in parallel with product development engineering.
  • 1-2 years of experience defining, creating, validating, releasing, and supporting production test processes and equipment in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices.
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting production test equipment internally and at international contract manufacturers.
  • Exposure to Orcad, PADS or other schematic and PCB layout-related software tools.
  • Experience reading and interpreting PCBA schematics, module specifications, procedures, and other product design documents.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of building, testing, and repairing electro/mechanical devices.
  • Periods of extended hours and off-shift work may be required to support production and product development efforts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with other groups in an effective manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, small team environment with general direction.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $75,000 - $95,000 depending on experience + annual bonus opportunity
