The Role

 

The Product Manager is responsible for facilitating profitability realization and revenue growth through commercial management of a chemical product line manufactured primarily for the semiconductor market. This position interacts with nearly all aspects of the organization and is responsible for making critical decisions related to their product line across functions. This position ensures that ongoing activities related to their product line support the strategic business goals and maintain customer satisfaction. This role is a remote opportunity.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

 

  • Develops and leads execution of product strategies to drive growth and meet Company objectives
  • Owns pricing activities to align with business strategy and realize budget goals
  • Owns profitability management and assists organization with cost optimization
  • Tracks and supports execution of revenue growth opportunities alongside Sales
  • Manages product lifecycle from new product development to product rationalization
  • Manages product level capacity planning and long-range growth planning
  • Works closely with Sales to support customer satisfaction
  • Works closely with Procurement on Vendor relationships and sourcing strategies
  • Seeks out market intelligence across functions and externally; maintains Company’s intelligence and research
  • Participates in contract development and negotiations
  • Commercial interface with Supply Chain for cross functional projects and change management activities
  • Supports S&OP development and forecasting activities
  • Reinforce safety initiatives to create a safety-first culture

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Marketing or applicable technical field (Chemistry, Engineering, etc.) with commercial experience
  • MBA or similar advanced degree preferred
  • 5+ years product management, sales or related experience
  • Excellent English communications skills, oral and written; ability to successfully handle social as well as business interactions with all levels of customers’ personnel; diplomacy skills
  • Good understanding of financial concepts such as IRR, NPV, ROI, COGS, profitability, margins, etc.
  • Aptitude for project management; possesses leadership skills; independent worker; ability to prioritize
  • Proficient at Excel, PowerPoint and MS Office suite; PowerBI aptitude is desirable
  • Up-to-date knowledge of market conditions including customer and competitor information in the industries served
  • Marketing and budgeting experience preferred
  • Contract development and negotiating experience preferred
  • Chemical plant knowledge/experience is desirable
  • Possesses analytical and conceptual thinking skills; able to identify gaps and solve problems
  • Ability to drive strategy and align ongoing activities with business objectives
  • Ability to make recommendations based on market research; ability to analyze financial information
  • Customer service focus including the ability to communicate diplomatically
  • 30-40% Travel expected.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, speak and hear.  The employee is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; the employee may be required, on occasion, to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  Employee may be required to travel by car, plane, bus, train, etc. as needed to get to customer, vendor, plant, or other meeting sites.

Pay Range: The salary range for this role is estimated at $120,000-$150,000, with actual salary flexible based on candidate’s qualifications and experience.
