    Job Summary:

     

    This is a hand-on management role where you can continue to leverage and enjoy your software expertise while leading and driving a software team to perform at their best. This position will be expected to manage a team to develop the applications and user interfaces for cutting edge ultrasound medical products, while working closely with Program teams to set schedules and to manage risks and mitigations, issues and uncertainties. The ideal candidate will successfully apply their knowledge of software engineering to guide the team in developing quality software for SonoSite products and employ Agile techniques and processes in software development. This position is also repsonsible for participating in departmental budgeting and managing the budget of the group, leading and motivating team members to improve productivity and quality and supporting and mentoring the team members for growth and career development, while simultaneously advancing the growth of the team as a whole. 

     

    Essential Job Functions:

     

    • Define application and user interface architecture running on SonoSite products
    • Design, develop and test software for SonoSite products
    • Analyze and resolve software issues.
    • Author the documentation for requirements, design, test, procedure, test results, etc., according to QMS.
    • Diagnose and fix bugs in SonoSite products with effective use of debugging tools.
    • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.
    • The design of both data structures and presentation layer of medical equipment.
    • Incorporates industry best practices in our software process e.g. Agile, testing, etc.
    • Work with clinical and user documentation teams in maintenance and creation of report content

     

    Knowledge and Experience:

     

    • BS degree in Computer Science or related field. MS Preferred.
    • 10+ years of demonstrable experience in software development and systems integration.
    • 3+ years managing a software development team
    • Familiarity with IEC 62304 for SW development highly desirable.
    • Experience with embedded systems preferred.
    • Must be proficient with XAML, .NET, C#, and C++.
    • Must be experienced with Windows application architectures such as UWP and WPF.
    • Strong knowledge of project management, risk management and iterative development process.
    • Strong knowledge of agile scrum methodologies and experience in using those methods to deliver complex software components
    • High level of comfort with SW architecture and object oriented design concepts

     

    Skills and Abilities:

     

    • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplined and global team.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to lift 25 lbs with or without accommodations.
