Supports Production efforts by coordinating the planning, purchasing, management for the supply chain at the Santa Clara Site.  Also supports the Engineering Team as they develop new products and ready’s them for release to production.

 

  • SKILL: A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.  
  • SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
  • EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Support production efforts by coordinating the planning, purchasing and assembly of parts required for various levels of production and prototype builds. 
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels ensuring uninterrupted supply of parts while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Development, management and sustainment of key purchasing indicators such as OTD, open orders, zero bin, machine down, etc.
  • Places routine and repetitive purchase orders, utilizing the formal ERP/MRP system.
  • Works with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice reconciliation issues
  • Partner with key stakeholders within the organization to forecast, understand the demand, evaluate inventory levels, and take orders from within the organization.
  • Negotiate directly with vendors to get the best possible pricing and payment options. Effectively bid, award, and administer project supply, services, and purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Analyze quotations from different suppliers, utilizing the (TCO) total cost of ownership tools and should cost of the parts, components, etc.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance. Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance and drive improvements.
  • Acts as the liaison between internal customers and suppliers for all supply chain duties within the respective scope.
