POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Production Technician II must be proficient in all components of the Production Technician I position.   A Production Technician II will have knowledge of two processes in the areas that they work. The technician performs a variety of semi-repetitive operations to assemble precision, electromechanical products where methods and sequence of assembly are described by production planning or detailed written instructions. In addition, this position performs repetitive duties to test, troubleshoot and repair any electromechanical products.  May be required to use microscopes and precision measuring instruments to guaranty conformance to specified tolerances.  May be required to disassemble precision assemblies to correct malfunctions. Duties may include the use of a variety of test equipment and other input/output test devices.  Certain jobs may require experience not specifically stated in this document and will be coordinated by the Production Lead and/or Production Supervisor.

Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature, but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

SUPERVISION

Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Works from production/assembly instructions, BOMs, drawings, andverbal instructions assemble ink jet print heads Performs work within limits of prescribed procedures.
  • May work from specifications, technical manuals, schematics and written/verbal instruction.
  • Will set up and adjust fixtures.
  • Know how to read Special Build Request (SBR) instructions.
  • May be TWI trained to participate in training of new employees and cross training of existing employees.
  • Reviews process documentation.
  • Must know how to use timesheets and charge time to the correct account.
  • Basic knowledge of Document search
  • Must be proficient in the use of the company MSDS system.
  • Must know emergency protocols, exits, and rally points.
  • Must meet daily quota’s for quantity and quality of work performed
  • Must meet company’s expectations for unplanned time
  • May be asked to work in area’s that are developing new products
  • May be tasked with helping write process documents or JIBs
  • May be asked to work OT when needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

 

  • High school degree or equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Must be able to recognize and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as individually.
  • Job may require guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to get things done.

 

All requirements for Production Technician I and proficiency in at least two of the areas listed here in

DESIRED:

 

  • Some knowledge of SAP ERP or SAP MES
  • Past experience training co-workers

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Position requires ability to work at close vision (20 inches or less) and must have the ability to adjust focus.
