Job Title:  Senior Engineer, Medical Imaging Software

Job purpose

Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation is seeking to hire a seasoned and motivated software engineer with experience in medical imaging software.  This is an important member of the software engineering team, responsible for our market-leading healthcare information systems. Our product is an integrated system that stores, displays, analyzes, and communicates patient health information and medical images such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine.  Clinicians use our product to diagnose and report on patient conditions and to recommend treatment and follow-up procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

• Work collaboratively across function areas the organization to launch software development locally and foster best practices, team unity, and development of world class software.
• Research and analyze requirements from end users and internal sales force/application specialists, and iterate the process of creating functional specifications, prototyping, and evaluation in order to implement the product.
• Lead software specification writing, software design, coding, and testing throughout the development life cycle.
• Develop medical imaging software leveraging outsourcing in conjunction with Japanese development team.
• For contractors on the team, ensure that work is productive and timeline is accurate.
• Work closely with project managers to support key management initiatives and build the best team including contractors and external research teams.
• Evangelist for best development practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science (MS preferred) or related field, or equivalent experience
• 6+ years software development experience including 2 years in a senior technical role, managerial experience is a big plus
• Extensive experience in all aspects of application development and project life cycles
• Experience working with DICOM
• Working knowledge of computer graphics, GUI design, image processing and associated programming techniques.
• Experience in object-oriented programming and in multiple development technologies, with proven ability to maintain software products written in different languages and platforms
• Good experience in driving an application architecture
• Experience in Waterfall and Agile/Scrum development
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to write functional and technical software specifications
