The Senior Synapse Engineer is responsible for the more complex technical issues presented to the EIS/RIS support team. Typical tasks consist of in-depth troubleshooting at the server, workstation and code level, database configuration and optimization, upgrading customers, writing/updating technical documentation, and server transplants (OS and DB upgrades). Additionally responsible for supporting any EIS/RIS highly complex, technical project needs, such as installing and configuring EIS/RIS OVA's .

Duties and responsibilities                                                                                                         

  • Provide internal and external technical support on all Synapse systems as needed
  • Troubleshoot HL7 interfaces and work in conjunction with the interface engineers to diagnose interface issues
  • Enter support items in the support system, track and follow up items
  • Configure/manipulate CSV files for load into Oracle or SQL database
  • Maintain regular contact with customers/accounts involved with
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of reports and other support functions. Maintains communications with HCUS employees through telephone and intranet posting of pertinent
  • Performs special projects, tasks and studies as may be requested by
  • Adheres to the Company’s quality and regulatory compliance requirements, without exception, and ensures that all job duties inherent in the position description are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures

Qualifications                                                                                  

 

Essential

  • BS degree in a technical discipline. AA with significant on the job experience in a technical engineering
  • 5-10 years full time experience working with Windows servers and workstations in a technical
  • Expertise in setup and troubleshooting of various IT related systems (LAN, WAN, SAN, and Servers).
  • Working knowledge of both SQL and Oracle relational databases and ability to run queries, updates, deletions, create/monitor backups
  • Knowledge of HL7 messages and mappings
  • Experience working with private medical information (HIPPA).
  • Experience installing, configuring, and optimizing Oracle and SQL server.
  • Experience working with database setup and structure, Oracle
  • Experience troubleshooting IIS issues
  • Experience researching Windows event viewer errors and tracking down the cause.
  • Ability to properly configure Antivirus software to work in conjunction with medical software.
  • Experience running SQL traces and narrowing down the cause of slow queries.
  • Excellent technical written and verbal communication
  • Experience with Excel, Word, MS Project, and
  • Must be very organized and multi-tasking.
  • Experience in working with, managing, and resolving customer problems and
  • Able to work
  • Available for rotating on call shifts.

 Desired

  • MCSE is highly
  • VMWare certification
  • Experience with server
  • Knowledge of Radiology Knowledge of Radiology and Hospital player, roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience with Faxing solutions
