Job Summary:


Fujifilm Sonosite is looking for a student of Visual Design with a natural talent for solving problems and  communicating solutions visually. This is a three to four month internship with compensation (relocation  costs are not included).


Since great design comes from both vision and human understanding, you will learn to uncover  opportunities and create new experiences that take the fullest advantage of them. As part of our team, you  will be working with other designers to create experiences that will empower clinicians. In this role you  will work in an open and collaborative, team-based work environment. You will be expected to seek the  truths of the users needs, habits and work environments and combine that understanding with your own  perspective to bring fresh, new ideas. 

The Visual Design Intern will play an important role in assisting the Senior Visual Designer with day to  day tasks, within a fast-paced environment. The Intern will be responsible for providing support to team  members on projects and working across teams. 

You are developing verbal, written and visual presentation skills and also have some understanding of  the realities and constraints of manufacturing processes. You welcome the opportunity to give, or  receive, constructive criticism.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail oriented, very hands on organization 
  • Prioritize and monitor the completion of tasks on a daily and weekly basis 
  • Demonstrate exceptionally strong organizational skills and good judgment to effectively manage and  prioritize workflow 

Assist with the following: 

  • Support the team by helping to create email templates, updating style guides 
  • Design and edit data visualization presentation templates for research and evaluation studies
  • Support the team by helping with design pattern libraries that can be applied to all projects 

Be an active and participating member of the XDT:

  • Work with design leads to develop and refine concepts 
  • Participate in collaborative sessions within the studio 
  • Participate in process and tool enhancements

Knowledge and Experience:


  • Junior or Senior in an accredited Design program
  • Fluency in visualization tools (sketching, Solidworks CAD, Adobe CS, Keynote, etc.)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-driven, organized and good with time management
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse, cross-functional environment
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds, with or without accommodations
