POSITION SUMMARY:     

 

The Design Engineer Intern (FIS) will do drafting, and engineering change orders.  We would the candidate to have experience with assembly and bill or material revisions, part and assembly  3D modeling in CAD (Solidwork experience preferable).  The job will be completing redlines through the ECR/ECO process for the summer.  This includes updating part and assembly drawing with the bom's involved.

  • Design Concept
  • Solid Modeling
  • Print Detailing
  • GD&T application
  • Assembly drawing creation (and instructions)
  • Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Technical college level courses completed related to design engineering.
  • Ability to multi – task
  • Engineer change orders
  • Basic computer skills including the use of standard office software, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team, as well as individually.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable working in an ambiguous environment.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be a fast-learner.
  • GD&T experience
  • Problem-solving skills utilizing science and engineering to arrive at practical solutions.
  • Ability to work and multi-task across several functional departments or across multiple projects.
  • Demonstrates efficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Comprehensive written, verbal and presentation skills, in order to effectively present information to peers and project teams.
  • Eager to work in a fast paced hands-on environment.
  • Willingness to be mentored by senior engineers

 

DESIRED:

  • Must be a self-starter
  • Solid Works 3D CAD experience, AutoCAD or equivalent 3D modeling system.
  • Ability to troubleshoot failures in product and processes
  • Photo manipulation skills
