Overview

The Master Scheduler is responsible for the maintenance of the Production Plan in the ERP system to support the MRP (Material Requirement Planning) process. Responsible for providing the Supply Chain team with a monthly production plan consistent with the asset / production plan and forecasted demands. New business opportunities, customer expectations, internal supply requests, and internal supply constraints will be used to load the production plan in ERP system for a defined period. Strong collaboration with Operations and Supply will be critical to meeting the business objectives.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advances the use of the SAP system by the planning team to enable efficient production planning and development of material plans that enable inventory optimization.
  • Obtain the Production Plan from Production Planning team to upload and regularly maintain in the ERP system, including special projects/requests, promise dates and working with materials management to confirm proper on time supply of materials.
  • Work with MDM team and other technical teams to ensure master data accuracy to support MRP defined processes.
  • Create a Capacity Planning in ERP system based on production plan and resource capacity planning.
  • Support Sales and Operations (S&OP) processes at a Site and Global levels by coordinating the Material Assessment information provided by Supply Chain based on the latest production plan and materials availability.
  • Coordinate and monitor the issuance and closure of Process Orders.
  • Maintain Weekly Weigh & Dispense schedule.
  • Conduct daily/weekly W&D meetings. Identify risks associated with the execution of the Production Plan and W&D schedule by closely monitoring the W&D in coordination with Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Monitor actual output versus confirmed W&D schedules, and report Schedule Adherence KPI (%)
  • Document the creation and maintenance processes in SOPs / Process Flows / Work Instructions.
  • Reduce waste associated with scheduling and planning or lack thereof, looking for and implementing continuous improvements.
  • Participate in ERP deployments, upgrades, and implementations of added functionality.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor Degree with a focus in business, engineering or science.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a master scheduler, supply planner or materials management
  • 2+ years’ production scheduling experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is preferred

 

Preferred:

  • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) Certification is preferred
  • Experience and a solid understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience in MES systems (PAS-X) a plus
