The Fujifilm Inkjet Solutions team develops, builds, and supports complete inkjet printing systems, based upon our proprietary printhead technology. Our clients are companies that need fully integrated, reliable single-pass inkjet systems, designed and built to industrial requirements

The FIS Software Project Manager is responsible for the planning, direction, and coordination of software development projects from initiation through implementation. They are an integral part of a cross-functional project team and will work with partners and stakeholders to determine and translate business requirements into robust technology solutions.

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.  

SUPERVISION

Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                        

  • Gather software requirements. Work with the technical contributors to achieve clarity and ensure alignment.
  • Collaborate with system architects to translate requirements into concepts. Break the concepts into manageable work packages that can be assigned to developers.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, documentation, change requests, risks, and issues to ensure maximum business benefit is maintained
  • Identify, track, measure, and report on key project milestones
  • Communicate project status to stakeholders, including expenses, forecasts, schedules, and risk/issue assessments
  • Facilitate adherence to standard work practices.
  • Negotiate resources and build teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the course of the project.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                   

  • May or may not have direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Significant coordination across departments and within own department of resources.
  • Expectation that will coach and mentor others regardless of direct supervisory relationship.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience doing software development and managing software projects
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing and deploying large scale projects as a project manager in the technical / software development industries
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models, as well as expert knowledge of both agile and traditional project management practices
  • Proven ability to effectively build interpersonal relationships and achieve alignment across a wide range of functions and constituents
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, and to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Sound grasp of the key business drivers and considerations in the technical / software development industries
  • Familiarity with updated software development methods and frameworks
  • Must instill confidence and engender trust. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization
