POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The systems engineer (SE) contributes to all stages of the development and support of inkjet printing equipment. It requires multidisciplinary skills that match the elements of the system including, mechanical, electrical, software, and chemical. The SE serves as the technical lead for a program. They are responsible for initial scoping, requirements generation, technical leadership within the development team, and validation. Organization, communication, problem solving, and leadership are critical skills important to a successful SE.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE

A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. This job is the fully qualified, career-oriented, journey-level position.

JOB COMPLEXITY

Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in many areas of expertise.  

SUPERVISION

Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Presales support. This includes the capture high level requirements, concept generation, feasibility analysis, project scoping, and product cost estimation.
  • Creation and maintenance of detailed product requirements
  • Inkjet application development
  • Provide technical guidance to project engineers
  • Product Validation

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or equivalent years of experience.
  • 5 -8 years of related experience.
  • Design or development experience in relevant field

 

DESIRED:

  • Advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Systems engineering experience
  • Knowledge of ink jet printing systems.
