Fujifilm Dimatix is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and sale of industrial inkjet printheads and systems with a strong presence in China, including a Service Depot facility located in Shanghai. Stationed in the China Service Depot, the Service Engineer is a critical member of our China team. The Service Engineer performs/supports all activities in the China Service Depot including printhead warranty evaluation & repair, basic printhead failure analysis & reporting, customer training & ink testing, test equipment
calibration & repair, and special projects which may include China trade show support, China customer support visits, and annual training in the United States among other things. The Service Engineer is technically strong with the ability to speak, write and comprehend the English language.



  • SKILL: Has a substantial understanding of the job, and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.
  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 1 - 2 years of related experience.




  • Accurately and consistently follows written and verbal instruction.
  • Evaluates, assembles and tests Dimatix printheads and systems.
  • Makes accurate and consistent product warranty determinations against written criteria.
  • Performs basic printhead failure analysis with respect to physical, mechanical and electrical attributes.
  • Writes failure analysis reports analyzing collected data and summarizing results for higher level audiences.
  • Presents self in a professional manner while interfacing effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • Effectively walks customers through printhead repair training and low-level ink testing.
  • Performs test equipment calibration and repair.
  • Works with senior Service Depot staff on special projects and undocumented tasks.
  • Travels on occasion to trade shows, customer sites and Dimatix facilities in the United States.
  • Searches for Continuous Improvement opportunities in everything he/she does.

  • Ability to speak, write and comprehend English, including strong technical writing skills.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree or equivalent from a College or University with 1-2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge or experience in the use of statistical techniques.
  • Ability to multitask.




  • Electronic & Mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Macros and Pivot Tables.
  • SAP or other Business System and/or Quality System software experience.
